In April 2012, our first aircraft took to the skies for its debut flight with the Royal Air Force.  Since then, our fleet has grown significantly and is now complete with 14 A330-200 aircraft.  Our 1,000,000th passenger signifies the combined operations of our entire fleet with the Royal Air Force and within the commercial market and the flight itself was flown by flight crew from No. 10 and No. 101 Squadrons alongside AirTanker cabin crew.

The happy couple, Mark and his Wife Gemma, checked in at RAF Brize Norton early this morning to travel to RAF Akrotiri for the first time, in anticipation of moving out to Cyprus.  Delighted with the surprise, they said:

“It’s fantastic – great news and a nice little start to Valentine’s Day.  Part of our journey today is to see how the flights work [to and from RAF Akrotiri] but I don’t think every flight will be quite this full of surprises.”

“We drove down this morning and checked in which has been nice and easy so it’s been a lovely day so far.”

Colin Wood, AirTanker Services Managing Director, is delighted that this has been achieved since flying started 6 years ago.  He said:

“This is a significant milestone, not just for AirTanker but for the military and civilian crews that support us and it demonstrates the ongoing commitment that we have to continue delivering a great service to all our Customers.  This is a team effort and we pass our thanks on to all at RAF Brize Norton and everyone on No. 10 and No. 101 Squadron who have helped to achieve this.”
