Over the past few weeks, the aviation sector has taken a huge hit as a result of the recent pandemic. As an airline we are not alone in these challenges faced and have been looking at ways we can help to reduce the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are taking extra steps to maintain the safety of our crews, passengers and customers by significantly increasing the cleaning levels on board our aircraft.
Our aircraft undergo a thorough deep clean process following any Air Transport flight that has operated through an area designated ‘high risk’ by EASA, or is transporting someone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
We are working with JetWash, a specialist aircraft cleaning service who support Maintenance and Repair Organisations and aircraft operators worldwide, to deep clean our aircraft. Interior fumigation and deep cleaning of aircraft is of significant importance in the fight against COVID-19. AirTanker Safety, Health, Enviromental & Export Control Manager said:

So how is an aircraft deep-cleaned?
In addition to usual cleaning procedures, a deep clean provides increased levels of disinfection, spraying, fumigation and fogging of the cabin, flight deck, galleys, toilets and cargo hold areas.
Providing antimicrobial protection for up to 10 days, all the cleaning products used by JetWash are approved by aircraft manufacturers and their disinfectants are effective against a wide range of pathogens and inactivate complex viruses with similar properties to the likes of SARS, Ecoli and Avian Flu.
