AirTanker have been contracted to deliver the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft programme to the Ministry of Defence.  Working with the RAF, the programme will deliver a passenger transport, air to air refuelling and aeromedical evacuation capability and surrounding support service for the next 23 years. It is not simply about procuring an effective and reliable aircraft, but also requires us to cover all aspects of an integrated support service including aircraft maintenance, crew training, relevant infrastructure, fleet management and ground services.

Primary Job Purpose

Provide production planning support to the Part 145 Maintenance organisation, ensuring the availability of personnel, material, equipment, data and facilities to support planned maintenance activities, and ensuring that the work packages are controlled and completed in accordance with the regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide production planning support to the Shift Managers, ensuring the availability of personnel, material, equipment, data and facilities to support planned maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate man hour capacity plans for Scheduled Maintenance Inspections, and Ad Hoc Maintenance inputs.
  • Assist in the production of maintenance work packages, including all supporting maintenance data, associated forms and documents required for schedule maintenance inputs
  • Assist the Shift Managers with the Engineering  Personnel Flight Roster
  • Control work packages issued to the Part 145 Maintenance Organisation, including maintaining records of all work cards issued and returned.  
  • Ensure all maintenance work pack documentation is accounted for, completed correctly, and where applicable certified by an appropriately qualified engineer.
  • Organise and schedule the issue of maintenance task cards to the Part 145 Engineers, ensuring tasks are conducted in the most efficient and productive manner, whilst taking into account the potential human factors implications.
  • Represent the Part 145 Maintenance Manager during tasking and scheduling meetings with the Operators Part M organisation.
  • Liaise with the Operators Part M organisation to ensure that all due maintenance is planned and work packages are made available to the Part 145 Maintenance Organisation in advance of the scheduled maintenance input.
  • Keep the aircraft maintenance status boards updated.
  • Produce statistical data reports as requested by management.
  • Bring to the attention of the Maintenance Manager any documentation anomalies found.
  • Assist the Operators Technical Services as required.
  • Be personally responsible for engaging in all facets of the role in line with the requirements of the ATrS SMS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems to provide a safe and efficient outcome to all that you do.  This Includes maintaining awareness of the company safety and quality policies and the hazard analyses applicable to your tasking.

 Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Production Planner or Production Controller within a civilian Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with EASA regulations pertinent to Part 145 Production Planning activities.
  • Demonstrable experience in computer literacy and specifically using computer based planning packages.
  • ‘A’ check and ‘C’ Check Planning knowledge of Airbus aircraft desirable.

Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of AirTanker Services are required to be security cleared to SC level. If successful in your application we would support you with the SC process.
