Part 2 of our video hears from a Voyager and Typhoon pilot talking about flying the aircraft, and the capability that it provides to fast jets in their different roles.
Not long after scrambling on a QRA mission, any Typhoon pilot will start to think about fuel. The Mach 2 capable fighter will burn through its fuel load quickly, if needed; reacting to a threat in any corner of the UK’s area of responsibility.
A Voyager won’t be far behind them, though. With three refuelling hoses, able to transfer fuel at up to 1,800 kilogrammes per minute, the Voyager acts as their airborne petrol station.
