About the scheme

In your first 9 months:

  • you will complete a foundation course where you will gain knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices within a simulated EASA Part 145 environment at Resource Group, located at Cotswold Airport.

  • you will be accommodated in the Cirencester close to the training facility.

  • your time with Resource Group will be split between classroom and workshop training with specific structured maintenance tasks being performed on training aircraft and engines to further enhance your learning.

  • you will complete all of the EASA Category 'A' licence modules which in turn will lead to the award of a Level 3 Diploma On-Aircraft Maintenance Category A.

  • on completion of the 9 month foundation course you will then move to AirTanker Services Ltd at RAF Brize Norton to put into practice your new found skills and work towards completing your e-portfolio & CAP 741.

 What happens next?

  • on arrival at AirTanker, you will recieve coaching from a number of dedicated  engineering mentors, giving you the opportunity to interact and learn from colleagues. You will also have the full support of the Voyager Training Service team who will guide you through all aspects of becoming a trained and confident aircraft engineer.

  • during the 2 year apprenticeship, you will have obtained a wide range of academic and practical skills and enjoyed a great mix of learning experiences across our Fleet Engineering departments.

  • on successful completion of your apprenticeship, you may be offered a role within AirTanker Services at RAF Brize Norton, which may open up the opportunity to work as a Sponsored Reservist and undertake short operational deployments worldwide.
