It is a global leader in the aerospace sector, delivering equipment, systems and services to both military and civil markets - enhancing the safety and operational efficiency of cockpit and cabin solutions, avionics and sensors, air traffic management and navigational aids, satellite communications, and a comprehensive range of air training and flight simulators.

Thales UK is a member of the AirTanker consortium, and a shareholder in both AirTanker Ltd and AirTanker Services Ltd. Thales UK is also one of the primary sub-contractors for the Voyager programme, supplying mission simulators, defensive aids, avionics and mission planning systems.

Cutting edge military technologies

Thales has provided a significant portion of the AirTanker solution during the acquisition phase – for the aircraft, for the ground infrastructure, and in the preparation for operational service.  This includes the military avionics and defensive aid suite; the ground mission systems; and the full-flight simulator, and other training devices and services for the air crew.

Thales will also provide an extensive range of services during the support phase, including the provision of initial and through-life spares; obsolescence management and repairs; and the management and delivery of integrated training services for both air and ground crews that cover air transport, extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) and air-to-air refuelling.

Supporting passenger comfort

As Voyager carries passengers as well as fuel, Thales is providing its market-leading in-flight entertainment services.
