Maintaining aircraft availability for the UK Armed Forces
Employing around 7,000 people and with revenues of approximately £900 million, Babcock’s Defence and Security Division is a leading provider of infrastructure, equipment support and military training to all three Armed Services. Its’ Air programme
includes the delivery of aircraft maintenance, aircraft line and base operations, equipment maintenance and airfield support services.
Babcock plays a key role in the Voyager programme. This has included the delivery of AirTanker’s state-of-the-art operational Hub at RAF Brize Norton, which features a purpose-built hangar and associated office and administrative buildings, plus AirTanker’s training facilities.
Babcock will continue to support communications and information systems during the through-life service delivery phase of the project up to 2035.
Babcock is responsible for providing all ground support equipment training to AirTanker and the Voyager programme. Babcock is also responsible for providing all ‘operational’ software training.
