The aircraft is based on the A330-200 commercial airliner which is built by Airbus in Toulouse and then flown to Getafe, near Madrid, where it is converted into an A330 MRTT by Airbus Defence and Space. It is in service with four nations – Australia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, in addition to the UK.
Airbus Defence & Space also produces the A400M new generation airlifter. With its unique combination of strategic and tactical capabilities, the A400M will serve as the Atlas alongside Voyager at RAF Brize Norton.
Airbus Defence & Space's highly versatile product range also includes the robust and service proven, “Light & Medium” Family, comprising the C212, CN235 and C295 twin-turboprops in operation throughout the world. The C295 is the basis for a family of maritime patrol (MPA), anti-submarine/surface warfare (ASW), and airborne early warning (AEW) variants which addresses today´s complex intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) requirements.
