Voyager is delivering a world-leading capability to the RAF, supported by AirTanker and its dedicated engineering and flight operations teams.

Globe trotting

A combination of cutting edge aerospace technologies enables Voyager to carry more payload, further and more efficiently than the aircraft that it replaces. This provides an extended strategic and tactical capability to the RAF taking the aircraft and the teams that underpin it further in the support of UK Armed Forces.

This currently includes flights to more than 50 world-wide destinations ranging from Alaska to Malaysia. AirTanker also operates a number of scheduled flights. Currently flying to Cyprus and the Falkland Islands via Ascension Island, flights are manned and operated by civilian pilots and cabin crew.

Down route support

AirTanker’s engineering and flight ops teams support the aircraft’s operation wherever it goes. This includes flying engineers down route with the aircraft to conduct routine and reactive maintenance in support of the service.

This includes a mixed team drawn from RAF embedded, Sponsored Reservist and civilian engineers. Sponsored Reservist engineers switch between military and civilian roles dependent on tasking in support of either military or civilian aircraft.
