AirTanker will be based at a new, purpose-built service operation, maintenance and support facility in Brize Norton. It is providing the aircraft, infrastructure and support services needed by the RAF to fly air-to-air refuelling and transport missions worldwide. The company will deliver a complete, packaged solution comprising of new multi role tanker transport aircraft derived from A330-200 airliners and full maintenance, fleet management and ground services. The AirTanker shareholders are Cobham, EADS, Rolls-Royce, Thales UK and VT Group. Together they also form a highly reliable, robust and incentivised supply chain that will produce the aircraft and military equipment and support it through-life. This new approach to meeting the RAF’s air-to-air refuelling and transport needs places AirTanker at the forefront of service provision and provides the MoD with significant operational benefits and value.
